Although you may not all know our name, we guarantee you know our work. For decades we have designed, serviced, inspected, and monitored Fire Alarm Systems of the places you go for entertainment, where you live, work , shop, and go to school.
Fire Detection Group is a family-owned company that was established in 2001. However, our true beginnings can be traced back to 1968 when we distributed low voltage systems and materials to the electronic repair and electrical industry. Being a distributor led to the introduction of a new division. The inception of WPI Communication Systems was to design and install MATV, CCTV, Intercom, and Nurse Call systems for commercial properties. During this time as technology was advancing, our electronic repair division, Marmax Distribution, had developed into a prominent Cable TV distributor throughout the United States and Canada. Due to our continued success, by 1981 we were awarded the Notifier Engineered Systems Distributorship for Southeast Wisconsin. In 2001, Notifier recognized us as an elite distributor. We started Fire Detection Group as a new division to focus primarily as a full service Fire Alarm Engineered Systems Distributor.
